Q: Will I lose control while in hypnosis?

A: No! Hypnosis is a 100% consent state. If, at any time, you do not wish to be in hypnosis you can instantly emerge yourself. Suggestions can easily be dismissed if you do not see a positive use for them.

Q: Will I be asleep?

A: No. Hypnosis has NOTHING TO DO WITH SLEEP! It is a natural state that people go into everyday when they daydream, read a good book, or watch a good movie.

Q: Is it possible to get “stuck” in hypnosis?

A: You cannot get stuck in hypnosis. Because it is a 100% consent state, you can emerge at any time!

Q: How will hypnosis help me stop smoking?

A: Hypnosis bypasses our critical judgmental part of our conscious that constantly tells us we can’t do something. It allows you to access the deeper, more powerful subconscious mind that contains all of our habits, including the smoking habit. With proper techniques, the subconscious organic computer can be re-programmed for health, self-esteem, and no further need for nicotine in any form. Q: How many sessions must I commit to?

A: Most clients require only one session. Occasionally a second session may be required for reinforcement.

The ACTUAL SESSION

Many people are interested in what exactly happens during a hypnosis session. Here is a complete outline from start to finish:

1.      Greet and Information: The hypnotherapist greets the client and asks a few questions to determine if the person is REALLY ready to be a non-smoker. If not, the person is requested to return at a later time when he/she has made a final commitment with no cost to him/her.

2.      Intake Forms: A client form and client Bill of Rights is completed by the client.

3.      Educational Video: The client watches a 20-minute informative video on exactly how hypnosis works, the misconceptions and the facts. It also explains how the conscious and subconscious mind work.

4.      Q & A: The hypnotherapist will answer any questions the client may have.

5.      Hypnosis Session: The client relaxes in a comfortable chair and the hypnosis is done, usually lasting 45 minutes to an hour.

6.      Post-Hypnotic Interview: The suggestions are reinforced just after emerging from the session.

7.      Further Inquiry: Any other questions are answered by the hypnotherapist

8.      Completion: The client leaves, knowing that at any time, he/she may call our office if there are any further questions or concerns.

9.      Follow-Up: If needed, a second session is performed to reinforce or finish the first session (this is usually scheduled up to 5 days after the first session).
